lang=\"EN-GB\">KEYS \u2013 Steinhardt\u2019s research record in&nbsp;China<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>After the suc\u00adcess\u00adful com\u00adple\u00adtion of two research projects from the CLIENT pro\u00adgram fund\u00aded by the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Min\u00adistry of Edu\u00adca\u00adtion and Research, Stein\u00adhardt GmbH has now received the notice of approval for par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpa\u00adtion in the fol\u00adlow-up project, KEYS. The project active\u00adly sup\u00adports the devel\u00adop\u00adment of Ger\u00adman pio\u00adneer\u00ading tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies for imple\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion of the sponge city con\u00adcept in&nbsp;China.<\/p>\n<p>In coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with Leib\u00adnitz Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty in Hanover and oth\u00ader part\u00adner com\u00adpa\u00adnies, local solu\u00adtions are being devel\u00adoped in the Chi\u00adnese cap\u00adi\u00adtal, Bei\u00adjing, as well as in the boom\u00ading metrop\u00ado\u00adlis of Shen\u00adzhen. These solu\u00adtions are con\u00adsid\u00adered pilot projects with an impact on oth\u00ader loca\u00adtions in&nbsp;China.<\/p>\n<p>In Bei\u00adjing, for exam\u00adple, back-filled drainage ditch\u00ades along traf\u00adfic routes are being reac\u00adti\u00advat\u00aded as infil\u00adtra\u00adtion troughs for heavy rain\u00adfall. The drained rain\u00adwa\u00adter will be cleaned using inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive tech\u00adni\u00adcal solu\u00adtions. A demon\u00adstra\u00adtion par\u00adti\u00adcle sep\u00ada\u00adra\u00adtion plant is being devel\u00adoped and adapt\u00aded to local con\u00addi\u00adtions. The Stein\u00adhardt HydroME\u00adSI is the mod\u00adel for this process; the prod\u00aduct has been re-designed to meet local require\u00adments. In the new gov\u00adern\u00adment dis\u00adtrict in Bei\u00adjing, the project par\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpants are build\u00ading a high-qual\u00adi\u00adty treat\u00adment plant with inlet struc\u00adture, coarse sep\u00ada\u00adra\u00adtion, dis\u00adcharge throt\u00adtling, sed\u00adi\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion, fil\u00adter and equal\u00adiz\u00ading tank, which oper\u00adates with no elec\u00adtric\u00adi\u00adty using the pow\u00aders of gravitation.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the new devel\u00adop\u00adment is also to take advan\u00adtage of the topog\u00adra\u00adphy, reduc\u00ading run-off, delay\u00ading run-off, cas\u00adcad\u00ading run-off to pre\u00advent flood\u00ading in the low\u00ader areas of the city. For this pur\u00adpose, a \u201cChi\u00adnese\u201d HydroSlide flow reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtor will be devel\u00adoped, the design of which will take into account the dif\u00adfi\u00adcult local frame\u00adwork con\u00addi\u00adtions such as the short-term, heavy, mon\u00adsoon-like rain run-off, the immense ero\u00adsion or the deposits of plas\u00adtic, garbage, etc. on sur\u00adfaces as well as in the sew\u00ader sys\u00adtem. In order to cope with the major chal\u00adlenges, oth\u00ader hydraulic drainage solu\u00adtions are being con\u00adsid\u00adered \u2013 such as a mix\u00adture of HydroSlide and HydroStyx. Using a defined high process water pre-pres\u00adsure, cav\u00adi\u00adta\u00adtion, oxi\u00adda\u00adtion and vac\u00adu\u00adum are gen\u00ader\u00adat\u00aded with pin\u00adpoint accu\u00adra\u00adcy in a spe\u00adcial\u00adly devel\u00adoped hydro\u00adme\u00adchan\u00adi\u00adcal reac\u00adtor sys\u00adtem.
